The benchmarking scheme is voluntary and will pay Welsh dairy farmers £1,800 to collate and submit farm data for a benchmarking report to be prepared.

READ THE 'HOW TO' DOCUMENT BEFORE YOU START

Details on how to complete the spreadsheet, along with how to download and upload it, can be found by clicking here.

In order for you to receive the £1,800, you must complete the data in this spreadsheet (download here) and submit to AHDB via the following secure link: Submit Benchmarking

By submitting your data you agree:

  •  For your data to be collated, analysed and reported in aggregated terms of averages, ranges, top/bottom 5% and quartiles
  • That the aggregated data can be used to inform decisions on future industry support by Welsh Government and AHDB.

  All data will be anonymised

In order to qualify for the funding, all information on the form must be completed and sent to the mailbox by 30 June 2017, any submissions made after that date will not be eligible for the financial support.

You may wish to engage the help of your accountant, adviser or farm secretary in completing and sending the data. Your data will remain confidential and will be held by AHDB although aggregated data will be published in a final report in the autumn.

Scheme eligibility

The scheme is open to dairy farmers in Wales. Eligible farms are those that were in milk production with supply contract on 1 January 2016.

Farm businesses can submit their data if they have left the industry after this date but businesses that began production after this date are not eligible. Only one payment will be made for each farm business, (each CRN) even if the business has more than one dairy herd.

Farms with land outside Wales can participate in the scheme if the majority of their land is in Wales.

Payment

Payments will be made by Rural Payments Wales (RPW) in September and must be made by Bankers Automated Clearing System (BACS). To receive a payment, you must have a valid Customer Reference Number (CRN) and RPW must have your full bank details.

If you are not registered as a customer with RPW or your bank account details are incomplete/out of date, you must call the Customer Contact Centre on 0300 062 5004 (Monday - Thursday 8.30 - 17.00, Friday 8.30 - 16.30).
