Why BVDFree?

Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD) infection causes losses of £53.55 per beef cow/year and £42.63 per dairy cow/year due to lost revenue and the cost of managing disease in a herd. The key to your herd becoming free from BVD is to begin testing, to identify and remove animals persistently infected (PI) with BVD Virus and to stop pregnant animals becoming infected with BVD virus.

By taking a coordinated approach across the industry, BVDFree England aims to reduce the presence of BVD virus in our cattle population. To ensure your herd has the best chance of becoming and remaining free from BVD.
