Cut costs by making the most of muck and slurry - Maryport

When: January 23rd 2018 10:45 to 14:15
Location: CA15 6PB

The Programme:Combined WCRT CSF ERT

Slurry, farmyard manure and dirty water are all valuable by-products of dairy farms. The recently refreshed AHDB Nutrient Management Guide (RB209) shows that muck is worth £9.20/tonne and a cubic metre of slurry has a value of £3.20 in NPK alone.

The new guide helps calculate soil nitrogen supply using the field assessment method and changes grassland nitrogen recommendations to focus on target yield.

Join us to find out how RB209 can help exploit the financial potential of your slurry and manure.

What we will cover:

  • How best to store and use slurry and muck to release their true value
  • Using AHDB Slurry Wizard to calculate volumes produced and storage capacity
  • How to produce a Nutrient Management Plan
  • Techniques for cost effective applications
  • Compliance with regulations
  • Update on local grants, projects and initiatives
