Join AHDB Dairy, Beef & Lamb with George Vets for this meeting where we’ll look at the importance of good forage for optimal growth and performance of all livestock. You’ll hear about four key areas:
Chris Duller, independent consultant, will talk about healthy soils and take us through the value of soil testing and interpretation of the results explaining when it is prudent to carry out full or partial analysis.
Multicut silage - Keith Davies, award winning dairy farmer, will explain the practicalities of this system including storage and feeding out. Keith will discuss the potential cost benefits of this system and explain the potential pros and cons.
Youngstock growth - Andy Dodd, FCG Consultant will go through the targets you need to set and how to monitor performance. Failing to achieve optimal growth is a huge cost to the business but big gains can be made by addressing poor performance and checks in growth.
Pre-weaning health - Ed Bailey and Gethin Roberts from George Vets will share their knowledge on how to give pre-weaned youngstock the best start in life. From joint ill, pnuemonia to BVD these can all have a huge financial impact on the business and have lasting implications for stock health – find out what steps you can take to reduce disease pressure on your farm.
