Quality silage from seed to feed

Want to make better decisions about producing high quality silage? Join us for this meeting, where we’ve lined up a Pottingerrange of experts who will cover everything from feed to seed, including:

  • Francis Dunne from Field Option will be discussing the choice of varieties for the multicut silage system at Longden Manor Farms and how to select the correct mixture for your farm and your system.
  • Colin Bowen, Longden Manor Farm Manager and contractor will discuss silage making best practice and why he has chosen to use forage wagons for making silage for the Autumn Block dairy herd.
  • Dr Dave Davis from Silage Solutions Ltd. Will give an overview of his findings from a nation silage survey funded by AHDB Beef and Lamb and give his recommendations on how silages can be improved.
  • Hefin Richards of Rumenation - Independent dairy & beef nutrition consultant, will discuss how a planned approach to silage making can ensure a cost effective feeding programme for livestock over winter.
