Recent UK imports and exports data shows that the UK Cheddar trade balance continues to improve. This is mainly due to a steady increase in exports over the last five years, with imports decreasing slightly in the past few months. Whilst it is positive that the UK is finding increasing export opportunities, the relative benefit of these markets to the supply chain is dependent on their value relative to the domestic market. It also remains to be seen how significantly export trends will change following the Russian import ban in August this year; we will continue to monitor this as the data becomes available.
