Arla announce milk price increase for April

Published 25 March 15

Arla Foods amba has announced the first increase to its ‘on-account’ milk price for over a year. The price paid to UK members will increase by 0.83ppl from 30 March after accounting for exchange rate movements. Ash Amirahmadi, head of UK milk and member services, commented that the markets had recently shown an upward trend but noted there was some uncertainty whether this would continue. The last price increase occurred in February 2014, also following a general rise in wholesale prices.

The price rise for Arla’s UK members has been negatively impacted by the weaker Euro, losing just under 2% of its value due to the change in the average quarterly exchange rate.
