Healthy Eating Week 2015

Published 27 April 15

More than 5,000 nursery, primary and secondary schools from across the UK have registered to participate in the British Nutrition Foundation’s (BNF) Healthy Eating Week 2015, which takes place 1 - 5 June and is supported by DairyCo.

Over two million school children and teenagers will be taking part in the week’s activities, designed to increase their knowledge and understanding of healthy eating, cooking and food provenance.

With six weeks still to go, there are already 1,000 more schools registered than at the same time last year, signaling that Healthy Eating Week 2015 will be the biggest and best ever.

Roy Ballam, education programme manager at the British Nutrition Foundation, said: “This is the third year we have staged Healthy Eating Week and, from previous years’ experience, there will be literally thousands of creative hands-on, written and digital projects taking place throughout the week as schools, up and down the UK, demonstrate their commitment to healthy eating, learning about new foods and their origins, and cooking.”
