Wales Woman Farmer Award Winner Announced

Abi Reader - Farmer of the yearAHDB Dairy farming ambassador Abi Reader, a dairy farmer from Wenvoe, Cardiff, has been (Thursday, 21 July) been crowned Wales Woman Farmer of the Year at the Royal Welsh Show.

The Award seeks to champion the contribution that women make to the agricultural industry and to raise the profile of women in farming.

Off the farm, Abi has worked closely with AHDB Dairy as well as in here own right, supporting initiatives to help inform and influence public opinion about farming. Abi is particularly keen to educate the next generation of consumers and strives to show children that Welsh farming is an industry worth backing. Also, Abi hosts farm open days, charity events and more recently Cows On Tour – a roadshow that visits primary schools to tell the farming story.
