Reduction in Arla’s amba July milk price

Published 29 June 15

Arla have announced its July amba on account milk price will fall by 1.18ppl, from 6 July. This price fall consists of a reduction of 0.77ppl (one eurocent per kg) to the on-account price while Sterling continuing to strengthen against the Euro means a further reduction of 0.41ppl, due to an average exchange rate factor in the pricing mechanism. The Arla direct milk price is also set to fall, by 1ppl on 1 August. Arla have attributed the current price reduction to commodity markets continuing to trend downwards and market conditions in Europe becoming more challenging in recent times.
