Reducing antibiotic usage workshops

13 March 2018

AHDB is organising a series of workshops to help farmers improve dairy production efficiency by enhancing biosecurity, containment and boosting immunity.

On the back of the recently announced Responsible Use of Medicines in Agriculture (RUMA) targets, this timely discussion will enable farmers to gain a greater awareness of good biosecurity and biocontainment methods.

As well as practical advice on reducing antibiotic usage, farmers will also get a good understanding of the steps needed to boost immunity through vaccination and calf rearing best practice.

Three workstations set up at the venues will be led by:

  • Paul Williams – MSD Animal Health - Boosting Immunity
  • Wendela Wapenaar – University of Nottingham – Stop the Spread – Protect the Future
  • Lisa Morgans/Gwen Rees – University of Bristol – Future Proof our Arsenal
