Tesco to temporarily open up its TSDG price

Tesco has announced it is to temporarily pay its Tesco Sustainable Development Group (TSDG) price to more farmers supplying milk for cheese. This will run from 31 August 2015 through to 28 February 2016.

While presently the supermarket pays a TSDG price for liquid, cream, mature and extra-mature Cheddar, it will now open this up to value cheese, Red Leicester, Double Gloucester as well as mild and medium Cheddar.

The increase will benefit farmers who supply First Milk and South Caernarfon Creameries. The increased price will be paid from Tesco to Adams Foods (who supply the cheese) and then from Adams to the respective co-ops.
