Women in Dairy conference

Published 9 September 15

Under the banner ‘Supporting women in dairy to achieve and celebrate success’ the Women in Dairy inaugural conference took place today at Sixways Stadium in Worcester.

Amanda Ball, head of marketing communications at AHDB Dairy, spoke about working together on the image of dairy. She highlighted that acting as ‘ambassadors’ dairy farmers and the wider industry would benefit from more communication about what is happening on farm. Showing the public and the media what modern farming looks like and how it has changed in recent years makes a valuable contribution to enhance the image of dairy farming.

Gwyn Jones, chairman of the AHDB Dairy board, also spoke at the conference and talked through current UK dairy production and the challenges producers are facing including those brought about in relation to the supply and demand imbalance and market volatility.
