Grass quality remains good across the forage for knowledge sample farms with crude protein remaining around 25% and ME averaging 12.2 across the farms. With September rainfall only 66% of the expected monthly average and most of October following a similar trend ground conditions have remained good for grazing. Although grass growth rates for the last six weeks were above average for this time of year, falling light levels and temperatures have brought growth rates back to 33 kg DM/day, with dry matters remain steady at 16%. Nonetheless conditions remain good across the country for the final round.
