Calf to Calving - Penzance - Minimising stress to maximise return

Join AHDB Dairy and Evidence Group (formally EBVC) to discuss how we can manage heifers during the all-important transition period, including:

  • Calving a heifer – when to assist?
  • Nutrition – intakes and trough space pre and post calving
  • Environment - housing, bovine bullies and can she cope with concrete?
  • Health at calving – what issues affect first calvers?

This is the eighth in the series of AHDB Dairy’s Calf to Calving (C2C) initiative meetings, sharing heifer best management practice from birth through to calving to help you reduce your rearing costs.

You are invited to join us at your local host C2C farm where we will be discussing the progress of the group of 10 calves we are tracking through their life cycle as they approach calving. All welcome to attend, you do not need to have attended previous C2C meetings.
