The Irish governement has recently published its vision for the Irish and Dairy sector where one of the key goals is to increase milk production by 50% by 2020. The report, called Food harvest 2020 and which can be downloaded by clicking here, sees in the abolition of EU milk quotas in 2015 a good opportunity for the Irish dairy sector. The additional 2.75 billion litres expected should help to boost Irish exports which could put pressure on some British processors.
