Anecdotal commentary would suggest Irish farmers are looking to reign in milk production over the winter months as the threat of one last year of superlevy looms. Currently Ireland is running just shy of 7% over quota and with milk prices reducing, superlevy is likely to bite. In response, market commentators suggest that farmers could be looking to dry off earlier and/or switch to once a day milking.
