    The UK and Ireland MCVE values have fallen further behind the other EU milk countries in October and November. This is mainly due to the drop in cheddar prices seen over the last two months, at a time when gouda and emmental prices increased marginally.

    Latest data from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) shows another drop in milk producer numbers in December, in addition to the drop in November.
  • Ireland to exceed 2020 milk production target in 201812 December 2018
    In 2010, Ireland set the target of increasing their milk production by 50% by 2020 – from approx. 4.9bn litres to 7.4bn litres. Teagasc’s latest outlook puts milk production at 7.5bn litres for 2018, 3% up on 2017 and in excess of the target.
