Exchange rate volatility changing impact on AMPE

Movements in currency (between sterling & euros) have had a mixed impact on AMPE during 2017. Cumulatively, the impact is still positive, however this is not the case on a month-on-month basis. January and March saw exchange rates support AMPE, while in February and April currency influenced AMPE negatively. 

Cumulative Impact On Ampe

Currency fluctuations, like those seen recently, are likely to continue for some time. Any strengthening or weakening to sterling against the euro will continue to impact on domestic prices via trade and price competitiveness. As well as this, input costs are likely to be impacted in a similar way.
