The 'Sustainable worm control strategies for cattle' document, which is a technical manual aimed at the veterinarians advisors has been reviewed during 2013. This chapter deals with liver fluke and includings information on areas such as the parasite, life cycle, diagnosis and control. 

Fasciola hepatica, the liver fluke, is a common and ubiquitous parasite affecting the health and welfare of cattle worldwide.
Fluke infection is estimated to cost the UK agriculture industry about £300 million a year. Liver condemnations alone cost £3.2 million in 2010.
