This factsheet looks at the three most important constraints in terms of herd replacements: Labour, land and buildings. Working through flow diagrams to determine the most appropriate herd replacement system; low input rearing (calve 27-28 months), medium input rearing (calve 24-25 months), high input rearing (calve 22-24 months), contract rearing or flying herd for your resources.
