On 4 December it was announced that First Milk's chairman Bill Mustoe has taken over with immediate effect the position of chief executive while keeping his current role.

He is replacing Peter Humphreys who became chief executive four years ago. Mr Humphreys will continue to work in an advisory capacity until he leaves the business at the end of March.

Bill Mustoe was appointed chairman of First Milk at the end of October. This latest news follows a succession of developments, which saw First Milk successively reporting a net loss of £7.1m for the 2008/09 financial year, appointing a new chairman and reducing its shareholding in Wiseman from 15 to 10%.
