UK market helps Arla financial results in difficult 2015

Arla has seen a decline the company’s financial results in 2015, in line with what the co-op was expecting. The global markets situation has resulted in Arla’s revenue declining 3.3% compared to 2014, to €10.3bn.

Profits also suffered and, as such, the usual target of being equivalent to 3% of revenue was not met. The co-op instead reached 2.8% of company revenue, in the target range pre-agreed by the Board of Directors (2.7-3%).

However, Arla’s branded products outperformed its expectations, helping to alleviate some of the pressure from falling wholesale prices. A number of brands showed strong growth in sales while new products took off quicker than expected.
