FrieslandCampina providing incentive to reduce production growth

Published 8 January 16

Dutch co-op, FrieslandCampina, has introduced a temporary measure to provide some incentive for its members to cut back production until mid-February. Suppliers will receive around 1.5ppl (€2/100kgs) extra for deliveries between 1January and 11 February provided they are less than or equal to the volumes produced between 13-27 December. This is because the co-op is struggling to cope with the excess milk being produced, with regards to processing and selling.

According to Eurostat, production in the Netherlands is 6% higher in 2015 compared to 2014 (Jan-Nov) with November’s production up 14%.
