All countries have shown an increase in dairy cow numbers over the last five years, rising from the lows recorded in 2013. However, while over the last two years England and Scotland have started to reverse those increases, the Welsh dairy herd continues to grow.

Wales now accounts for around 16% of the GB dairy herd, with Scotland at 11% and England still dominating at 73%.
